So I forward the AT&T emails to a Gmail account (not easy, you can only forward from AT&T Mail Classic!). I guess the divorce decree was not finalized (still isn't). Well, apparently the two were still co-habiting, because I was told that I could not forward to a linked account.

I decided to forward my emails from AT&T Prodigy account to my Yahoo account. When I questioned why, I was told that is just the way it is, and that I could move the emails in the folders manually! I have dozens of folders with hundreds of emails in them. They did not transfer the FOLDERS in the Yahoo site to AT&T. There was one major screw up when Yahoo and AT&T "divorced".

Get a real email service provider that knows how to run an email service, where email is their only business, with proper support you can contact, and some level of privacy and trust (which leaves out aol and yahoo - same OATH management, gmail, and outlook/hotmail). Or, what I always end up suggesting when I go off the deep end in one of my ramblings like this, dump them. So the "great unmerge" apparently is still a work in progress, every few weeks a new surprise, and the users have to live with it till something actually does "stick". What's almost as bad is it appears to me ATTCares who post suggested "fixes" to this stuff seem to treat every thread like an individual user problem for that user to fix and not a systemic problem that att and yahoo needs to fix. It's like they say to themselves "I think this will fix everything so lets throw it up on the wall and see if it sticks". IMO att and yahoo (who wrote most if not all of the code) have lost control of the situation. Now that's joined in with "I try to log in and I am redirected to att" (which you would think you should be if you could log in when you get there), " doesn't work", the ever popular "SAML 2.0 authentication failed" when trying to get to the login page, and "I can't switch accounts with manage accounts". Initially it was mostly "I can't log in doesn't like my password" with the requite suggested fix "change your password" (hence see announcement in the upper right of this page). Ever since there's been (more?) problems with mainly the legacy account users. After monitoring and posting in these forums for the last few years the problems didn't really start happening until att and yahoo decided to do the "great unmerge (fiasco)" as I like to refer to it.
